The Prayer of Saint Mar Okeen Before His Departure
When Saint Mar Okeen had finished giving his blessing to the brothers, he prayed, saying:
O our Master Jesus Christ, who sits upon the cherubim, hear the voice of Your weak servant and accept my prayer, as Your holy mouth spoke, saying: Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.
Therefore I entreat You and ask You to save all who call upon Your name in every place. Bring to nothing every evil warfare against them, and deliver them from trials and afflictions. Take away from them hail, locusts and poisons, and drive away from them every enemy that would destroy their livelihood. Let no plague strike them, let there be no bereaved mother among them, nor any affliction of the devil, that Your holy name may be glorified among all people forever. Amen.
