The Healing of a Priest

The Patriarch of the land of Persia departed, and after him “Mar Shimun bar Sabbae” took his place. The righteous Emperor Constantine ordered the father bishops to be gathered to examine the teachings of Arius. Patriarch Mar Shimun could not attend, but he sent two of his disciples, father priests. One of them fell ill on the way, and his ears became blocked.

When the two came near the monastery of Saint Mar Okeen, they went up to receive the blessing of Saint Mar Okeen and his disciples, and to convey to him the greetings of Patriarch Mar Shimun. Saint Mar Okeen learned of the father whose ears were blocked, prayed for him and signed him with the sign of the holy Cross, and he was healed at once.
