The Woman with the Issue of Blood Receives Holy Baptism

The governor of that city had a sister who had suffered from bleeding for three years, and she had become so ill that she could not stand on her feet. She asked her sisters to ask the saint to pray for her. When Saint Mar Okeen learned of her condition, he ordered her to be brought. When she stood before him she was weeping bitterly and saying, “O man of God, pray for me; ask your God to have mercy on me.”

Then the saint stretched out his hands and signed her three times with the sign of the holy Cross, saying to her, “Woman, our Lord Jesus Christ stretches out to you the hand of healing.” And she was healed at once.

The next morning she received the sacrament of holy baptism at the hands of Saint Mar Okeen. The saint left that city with great joy, entrusting its people to the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ to support and keep them.
